A Rude Awakening is coming to some this Summer:

We were just informed late last week that the cost of R-22 refrigerant (most people know it as "Freon") has more than quadrupled in price!
That means that those customers that have the "old type" air conditioner units that need to be "re-charged" or repaired could be paying 4 to 5 times the amount they might have paid last year!
The choice of  replacing your old air conditioner unit with the new R-410a type units just got a little easier to make.
See the attached EPA link for more information on the R-22 phase out.

Just a friendly reminder,

It's the time of year when everyone can kind of take their heating system for granted.
Should your heating unit somehow fail, there are a few things you can check before calling for help (things that might save you a service call fee):

- Check to see if someone moved the thermostat switch from "Heat" to "Cool" (or OFF).
- Check to see if the switch on the side of the furnace was accidentally turned off.
- Make sure the electrical breaker is ON and not tripped.
- Make sure there is not a problem with the gas service coming into the house.
- Make sure the return air filter is clean!  * This is a big one - we have run more service calls because of it.
- Check the flue cap for obstructions; bird nests, snow build up, etc…
