For those that have pets that "do their business" near your air conditioner - beware! Constant "bombardment" of pet urine on an air conditioner can cause the copper and aluminum in the unit to breakdown over time and cause all kinds of problems!
It's been several weeks now since people have started to use their air conditioners on a regular basis. We are getting a lot of calls from customers saying that "my air conditioner is running but there is no air blowing out!?" The attached picture might be a good indication that your air conditioner system is low on refrigerant ("Freon"). Give us a call if you need yours checked before the real summer heat moves in.
As people start using their outdoor watering & garden hoses, we are starting to get customer calls concerning outdoor water spigots that may have been frozen and cracked over the winter. Whether or not Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow or not, our service team will be ready if, or when, you need us, the rest of this winter season! Our emergency on-call technicians are available 24/7!
Do you have a ultra high efficiency furnace? Even in lite-snow (or even no-snow), watch your furnaces combustion intake for signs of freezing over - your furnace has to “breath” in order to operate correctly! Ice and snow can plug up the intake, causing the furnace to shut down and lock-out, especially during sub-freezing temperatures! Keep an eye on it and clean on a regular basis - humid, moist air, mixing with hot exhaust from the furnace, can cause it to freeze-up!
A BIG THANK YOU to all our emergency on-call service technicians who brave the freezing cold and blowing snow to keep our customers heat running, who help keep the electricity “flowing”, and fix all the frozen water pipes and sump pump lines! You are the best!!
Winter has really arrived here in Central Illinois! If you are using electric space heaters in your home, it's a good idea to have a licensed electrician come and inspect your homes central power supply and/or breaker box to guard against overloads and possible fire! Give us a call on our regular business line, (309) 662-8481 or call our toll free number on our website.
We know it's been hectic through the Holiday Season, but don't forget to check and/or change our heating systems filter! Plugged and restricted filters can cause a lot of problems during the winter heating season!
